Teresa's is good; but, it's got NOTHING on a place like Czarwone Jabluszko. Same for Mexican: Find me the place better than in Pilsen. No offense, but having lived a long time in both places: Polish and Mexican (and Thai) food is much better in Chicago. And there are good reasons for that. (except for Thai: that I've never figured out.)

Next time at Teresa's, get a bowl of Flaki (tripe soup with spicy red pepper flakes) or their barszcz/borscht. Christina's (sp?) in Greenpoint is also good -- as far as NYC Polish food is good.

I go to Polam in Greenpoint Brooklyn. I also like Ottomanelli on Bleecker Street between 7th Avenue and Jones Street for kielbasa and everything else. Good luck Christopher Platt.

My grandmothers used to make meat blintzes. One grandmother made it with cooked beef, rice, & schmaltz. While the other grandmother used beef, onions, and raw egg as a binder. One grandmother cooked them in the oven and the other used a fry pan.

I'd second the rec's that Rob S. gave. Even though I was born and raised on Sal's famous (wink), in my opinion Johnny's is the superior of the two places and stands up rather well to slices just about anywhere. (I think it's better than Deninos in Staten, for instance.) Walters is a really, really great find. Make sure you get a Cowboy shake while you're there and the sweet spuds (deep fried sweet potato.) Pat's Hubba Hubba is legendary in Westchester, check out this wikipedia post for details, very much worth the trip at any time of day or (especially) night: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat's_Hubba_Hubba ... oh and be sure to get a "wedge" - that's what heros or subs are called in most of Westchester and parts of the Bronx - I'm sure the same is true for other places, just not sure where they are. Additionally, I'd check Anthony's Deli on Halestead Ave in Mamaroneck, not too far from the train station. They're known for having the biggest (and most affordable) sandwiches in southern westchester and as an added bonus they're about as quality as you can get up there.

There are tons more, but I gotta get back to work. Good luck!

I love how your brother still wears the navy blue sweatshirt and jeans. That is a super comfortable look that will never, ever go out of style.

It was the abundance of parking that probably won you over. It sounds nice although where's the thrill or sense of accomplishment.

I can't wait until Josh reprimands one of his neighbors and tells him "smarten up dummy" Even his house looks way bigger than the guy's next to him.
